God Girl Goals is a Christian Apparel brand created by Ivriyon Haley, a New Orleans native who currently resides in Georgia. The brand is based on scripture Proverbs 3:5-6 to encourage women to include God in the process of achieving their goals. It all came about at a time when I was trying to figure out my life purpose. I was starting to think that my life had to be more than a 9-5 job so I began thinking of ways that I could operate in my purpose as well as earn extra income. My thoughts went from candle making, bath bombs, and then YouTube. I was highly interested in doing makeup at the time that I started my own YouTube channel.

However, though I was great at it, for some reason I couldn’t stay consistent. I began feeling worn out and I remember going to a Prophetess at my church explaining that I was trying to figure out my purpose, but I didn’t know what it was. She then told me to go to God. When I did earnestly seek him that’s when God revealed to me to start this brand. When I got the answer from him, I was like, “What?! God, I don’t have the money for this! But I’m going to trust you anyway.” Once I did, everything that came after that just kept falling into place. I remember when I filed my taxes, I got back way more money than I expected, and I used that money to invest in my business. Also, two nights before my business name got approved a voice (The Holy Spirit) came to me in a dream and told me that my business name will be approved. Since then I’ve seen God bless my business in tremendous ways. I see now that God was taking what I was going through at the moment, my story, to build a business. I also have a Podcast on Apple Music/Spotify called God Girl Goals where I give tips on how to reach and set goals the godly way, as well as give insights on biblical stories/principles to help others stay encouraged and committed on their journey with Christ. I also encourage my listeners to include God in the process. You don’t have to have it all together first. Just take that first step of faith and God will handle the rest. He will give you the resources, the finances, and the connections you need to get started on your purpose/goals. If he did it for me, I know he can do it for others.

What makes me proud the most about my business is the impact that it has on others. I have gotten so many DM’s from women just thanking me for helping them stay encouraged and giving them confirmation on what God already told them to do. It truly has been a blessing to see how much my business has grown in just 1 year. I give God all the glory for that and it’s just confirmation for me that I’m doing the right things. I am also thankful for the tough times I went through. I feel as though my coming to Christ moment was when I finally got out of a relationship that had me depressed and distraught. I was putting all of my time and energy into a guy that I wasn’t spending time with God. I knew God but I didn’t KNOW God if you get what I mean. I remember writing in my prayer journal asking God to remove me from Mississippi (which is where I lived during and a little after college) so that I can get a fresh start, and God did just that. He moved me to Augusta, GA where I found such an amazing church home who truly teaches the word of God straight from The Bible. From there my relationship kept getting stronger. So, I am thankful for it all. GA is where I discovered my true purpose, so I thank God for the isolation that he needed to do in order to birth something new inside me.

It’s so crazy because though I know my purpose on Earth is to help people reach their goals through God, I also feel like my purpose is to help women with rejection. We all have demons that are assigned to us and I feel like rejection is mine. I’ve seen it over and over in my life and it’s honestly one of my biggest struggles. I know that God is going to do something with it, but I just don’t know what yet.

However, with my brand and my story, I want to encourage women to keep pushing and keep fighting for all that God has for them. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, it doesn’t matter how ugly you think your story is, God can turn that into purpose. I also want women to know that the road to following Christ isn’t easy. People aren’t going to understand why you do things a certain way, they’re going to criticize you and honestly, there are times when you’re going to mess up. I still mess up. I am not perfect, but I stay committed and that’s what’s important. Stay committed to God, the journey, and your process. Don’t allow the enemy to hold your mistakes over your head and don’t be so hard on yourself. Go to God, ask for forgiveness, and move on. I hope that my story not only inspires you, but I hope it was confirmation for a move that God has been asking you to make in regard to your own purpose.
